The original home was built in the Italianate Revival style. Theron Nye built the house in 1874. His son inherited the home in 1900 and remodeled the home from 1901 until 1912. The current style of the home is Georgian or Classical Revival and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The grounds are a Nebraska Arboretum Site.

April - December tour hours are 1:30-4:30 pm, Wednesday through Saturday. The last tour for the day begins at 3:30 pm. We are closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays. Tours are not available January through March.
Yes, there is a small admission fee of $5 for adults and $1 for students. Children 5 and under are free.

The grounds of the May Museum are a Nebraska Arboretum Site. We encourage visitors to see our rose garden located on the south side of the building and our Victorian garden in back of the museum. The gardens are maintained by volunteers and donations.The grounds also include a replica of a log structure representing life in the 1860's.
The museum is available for outdoor weddings and small inside events such as high school graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Please inquire by phone: (402) 721-4515.

The May Museum will be open for free tours. Stop by and see the house decorated for the holidays!
The May Museum and Dodge County Historical Society offices will be closed for the Christmas Holiday and reopen on 12/27.
This is the last day to come visit us until we reopen in March 2025.
